The conference will close with a Toast on the Terrace immediately following the Closing Plenary Saturday at 5:30 p.m. Eastern. All attendees are invited to mingle with ACGME leaders and staff members, as well as colleagues, to reflect on the conference, and celebrate the connections made!

The ACGME seeks organizations to participate in the 2024-2025 ACGME Equity Matters Learning Community. Organizations engaged in this new Learning Community should be committed to developing robust, sustainable approaches focused on increasing physician diversity and providing inclusive learning and working environments.

MUA/P Interest Group Sessions
The ACGME will hold sessions for GME community members involved in addressing the needs of MUA/Ps (places or communities in which groups of people have unmet health or health care needs). The aim of these interest group sessions is for the community to learn about efforts in GME and MUA/P, to solve for common challenges, and to share helpful knowledge and resources.

Satisfaction With Abortion Training in an Abortion-Restrictive State

Despite the increase in state-level abortion restrictions, the number of obstetrics and gynecology residency programs offering abortion education and training has increased in politically restrictive environments. This survey-based study aims to capture how resident perceptions of those abortion restrictions impact satisfaction with education and training and their intent to provide abortion care following residency.

The Review Committee for Family Medicine is preparing for a major revision of the Program Requirements for the multidisciplinary subspeciality of hospice and palliative medicine (view current Requirements here). The community is invited to make comments related to specific requirements or topics that should be addressed as the revisions are developed. In particular, the Review Committee invites comments about what the subspecialty of hospice and palliative medicine will look like in the future, and the competencies, resources, and personnel necessary to create physicians who will practice in the subspecialty. Review Committee Chair to Present at #AAO2023
Dr. Laura Green, chair of the Review Committee for Ophthalmology, will present a session at the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) Annual Meeting on Saturday, November 4, 2023, from 3:45-5:00 p.m. Pacific about the upcoming major revision of the Program Requirements for Graduate Medical Education in Ophthalmology. Dr. Green will provide updates and facilitate an interactive discussion about the ophthalmologist of the future.

International Rotation Guidelines Update for Urology
An update to the International Rotation Guidelines for Urology document is available under the Documents and Resources tab of the Urology page of the ACGME website. The revised guidelines include important changes regarding counting cases during international rotations.

NEW! The ACGME Seeks Osteopathic Recognition Committee Member
The Osteopathic Recognition Committee is seeking one new physician member. Candidates must be a program director or Director of Osteopathic Education in a program with Osteopathic Recognition. Nominations are due December 1, 2023.
The Recognition Committee will forward its selection to the ACGME Board of Directors for approval. The new member’s term will begin July 1, 2024 and end June 30, 2030.

The ACGME Seeks a Public Member
The following Review Committee seeks its next public member for a six-year term beginning July 1, 2024. Public members share the perspective of the public, foster public accountability, enrich the work of the Review Committee through outside expertise, and create transparency. While nominees cannot be physicians, other health care professionals are permitted if they are not employed by an organization with ACGME-accredited residency or fellowship programs.
