The ACGME and Intealth collaborated on a successful physician well-being seminar in Chicago this past weekend, addressing the unique needs of foreign national physicians in US graduate medical education (GME) programs. The event, partially funded by the US Department of State, emphasized the importance of supporting J-1 physicians during their transition and beyond.
The agenda, informed by Intealth's well-being survey, featured experts from both organizations and focused on enhancing resilience, supporting program-wide well-being changes, and navigating institutional systems. Also presenting were three J-1 physicians who led peer-to-peer well-being projects at their training institutions.
The collaboration's success will carry on through a freely-available well-being module based on seminar recordings and for the benefit of foreign national physicians in the US.
